Role Overview: The Field Service Engineer is responsible for attending vessels and shore-based sites to carry out installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair job and maintenance of advanced satellite communication systems and marine navigation equipment. This role requires strong, hands-on experience with gyro-stabilized antenna systems, including VSAT, FleetBroadband (FBB), Starlink, OneWeb, Iridium terminals, Citadel/Isat phones, Fleet Xpress, Firewall, IT job and NAVARINO Infinity systems. The engineer should also be proficient with IT networking, hardware firewalls, and secure communication components. Key Responsibilities: Perform onboard and onshore installation, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance of satellite communication terminals and navigation systems. Work on gyro-stabilized antennas and terminal systems, including VSAT, TVRO, FBB, Starlink, OneWeb, and Iridium Certus. Configure and support Fleet Xpress and NAVARINO Infinity platforms, including LAN/WAN setups and traffic routing. Set up and manage hardware firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and secure network infrastructure. Provide technical support for Citadel communications systems, including IsatPhone-based solutions. Conduct fault diagnosis and repairs, replacing hardware or upgrading software/firmware as required. Offer remote support and guidance to vessel crews for configuration or issue resolution. Maintain documentation including site visit reports, installation checklists, and system diagrams. Collaborate with OEMs, remote engineers, and customer IT/security teams to resolve advanced issues. Requirements Education: Degree/Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, IT, or Marine Engineering. Experience: 35 years of relevant field experience in maritime satellite communications and/or navigation systems. Hands-on expertise with systems such as Intellian, Cobham, KVH, Starlink, and OneWeb terminals. Strong knowledge of IP networking, routing, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, and security principles. Familiarity with Linux-based systems, remote desktop tools, and command-line diagnostics (SSH, CLI). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, network diagrams, and schematics. Skills: OEM Certifications (e.g., Intellian, Cobham, KVH, Starlink, OneWeb) Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent Other Requirements: Preferred Certification OEM Certifications (e.g., Intellian, Cobham, KVH, Starlink, OneWeb, iridium) Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent ITIL Foundation (for support process understanding)


Education: Degree/Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, IT, or Marine Engineering. Experience: • 2–7 years of experience in satellite communication technical support or NOC operations. • Strong understanding of VSAT systems ( KVH, Hughes, Viasat) and Fleet Xpress environments. • Experience with Starlink, OneWeb, or other LEO/MEO terminals is a plus. • Good working knowledge of IP networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, NAT, VLANs) and network security. • Familiarity with Linux CLI, remote access (SSH, RDP, TeamViewer), and diagnostic utilities (ping, traceroute, Wireshark). • Prior experience in ticketing systems, technical documentation, and SLA-based environments Skills: • OEM Certifications (e.g., Intellian, Cobham, KVH, Starlink, OneWeb) • Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent • GVF Certification (Global VSAT Forum) • ITIL Foundation (for support process understanding) Other Requirements: • Preferred Certification OEM Certifications (e.g., Intellian, Cobham, KVH, Starlink, OneWeb, iridium) • Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent • Ability to work in mission-critical, 24x7 environments under pressure
