Job Description

Manages Medical Science Liaisons and develops strategy and plans for medical information exchange with key opinion leaders and patient advocacy groups. As player coach, is also responsible for a disease area/region and assumes MSL responsibilities.

Builds relationships and demonstrated clinical outcome and benefits of CSL products to key opinion leaders and practice leaders. Provides concise and unbiased medical information about marketed products to increase brand awareness and support safe product use among the scientific/medical community and customers. Provides medical expertise, training and guidance to marketing teams and ensures they have sufficient knowledge and information regarding the organization's products. Remains up-to-date with scientific trends and knowledge and maintains relationships with target opinion leaders.

Recruits, onboard, and manages a team of MSLs.

Provides coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.

Foster a culture of scientific excellence, compliance, and collaboration.

Manages Medical Science Liaisons and develops strategy and plans for medical information exchange with key opinion leaders and patient advocacy groups in collaboration with the respective medical scientist for the therapeutic area.

Responsible for implementing and overseeing Medical Science Liaison strategy and execution for assigned portfolio in alignment with overall therapeutic area objectives

Evaluates trends and therapeutic opportunities in cooperation with research and regional commercial organizations

implements strategy for scientific interactions with the medical community including key opinion leaders and patient advocacy groups

Supports processes for evaluation of investigator led studies and research collaborations

Qualifications:

Advanced degree with relevant scientific/medical background; business experience/degree desirable

  • Bachelor's degree required with relevant scientific/medical background. Advanced degree preferred
  • 8+ years' pharmaceutical/ biotherapeutics industry experience, preferably in a medical sub-specialty relevant to CSL product lines
  • Thorough knowledge of products; experience conducting clinical trial programs desirable
  • Demonstrated leadership/management experience
  • Manages small to mid-sized team which would typically consist of both experienced professionals and managers
  • Focuses on policy and strategy implementation for short-term results (1 year or less)
  • Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis
  • Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures
  • Bilingualism (French/English) would be an advantage.
