Field Testing Engineer

Location: Redmond, WA
Onsite/ Hybrid/ Remote: Onsite

Job Summary

  • Field Testing Engineer to perform tests on Mobile devices on specific test plan in a live network environment.
  • Devices are tested at both stationary locations and on specific drive routes.
  • Support other device technology initiatives & new feature rollout such as Data offload over WiFi, Data offload over CBRS network via DSDS, mmWave, 5G SA etc.

Experience Required

  • BS/BE (Engineering) degree in related discipline strongly desired (e.g. Electrical, Electronics)
  • 5+ year of experience in triaging Android or iOS devices device defects.
  • 5+ year of experience in device logging tools like QXDM, Shannon, Adb, LML etc.

Responsibilities

  • Perform wireless device field testing per test plan and collect logs using Specific test tools
  • Troubleshoot device related and tool related issues when required and articulate clearly in reports.
  • Identify, analyze, and document defects and inconsistencies in handset behavior.
  • Review test results for accuracy and quality.
  • Execute tests and communicate results, defects efficiently to Lead.

Skills Required

  • Good understanding of wireless technologies including VoLTE, 4G, 5G (SA and NSA) network architecture and protocols.
  • Prior Experience of Carrier Field testing, AGPS Testing, Telecommunication DFIT, AVDFT, DPB, TMO- Field Performance or any OEM field test.
  • Experience with Data Performance, Call Performance, Audio Quality tests
  • Prior experience in device testing automation or knowledge of test script is preferred.
  • Prior experience of using LML/LMA tool is must.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Good interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong motivator and communicator both verbally and through written instruction
  • Flexibility to travel to other part of the USA.
