We are a fast-growing SME (₹80–100 Cr revenue) transitioning into an enterprise-grade finance, compliance, and governance setup. This is not an accounting or filing role.

This role exists to own outcomes, ensure pristine compliance, and act as the central coordination bridge between:

• Management

• Internal accounts team

• Auditors

• GST / tax filing vendors

• Banks, lenders, and financial institutions

• Big-4 firms (valuation, ESOPs, diligence, governance initiatives)

Most execution is outsourced or system-driven. Accountability is not outsourced.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Finance & Compliance Lead is a coordination-heavy, judgment-driven role.

You will be responsible for:

• Ensuring zero compliance surprises

• Maintaining enterprise-grade financial hygiene

• Making sure management sees numbers early, clean, and decision-ready

• Keeping banks, auditors, and advisors aligned, informed, and unblocked

You will not be booking vouchers.

You will be accountable for everything being correct, complete, and on time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance & Governance (Accountability Role)

• Own TDS compliances end-to-end

• Coordinate (not file) GST returns, income-tax returns, and MCA filings

• Track and ensure timely completion of: AOC-4, MGT-7, PAS-3, SH-7, and other statutory filings.

• Maintain a compliance calendar with zero slippage

• Identify risks, exceptions, and gaps early and escalate proactively

Banking, Lenders & Working Capital

• Act as SPOC for multiple banks and lenders

• Own:

- Drawing power calculations

- Covenant tracking

- WC limits, LC/BG utilisation

• Prepare CMA data, projections, and renewal documentation

• Ensure:

- No interest or principal delays

- No last-minute data scrambles

• Maintain professional, confident, and transparent relationships with lenders

Financial Hygiene, MIS & Systems

• Own internal MIS and management reporting

• Ensure Zoho Books data is:

- Correctly tagged

- Reconciled

- Audit-ready at any point

• Apply strong analytical and arithmetic judgment to spot errors early

• Stop careless or repeat mistakes before they travel upstream

Audit, ESOP & Strategic Coordination

• Coordinate with:

- Statutory auditors

- Big-4 firms for valuation, ESOPs, diligence

• Ensure:

- Clean, well-structured data packs

- Auditors don’t chase the company

- Strategic initiatives move smoothly without internal friction

Team Interface 

• Two senior accountants already manage receivables and payables

• Reporting may be dotted-line or direct, depending on leadership capability

• Focus is process ownership and outcome quality, not people micromanagement

COMMUNICATION & SOFT SKILLS (CRITICAL)

This role is coordination-heavy. Strong communication is non-negotiable.

• Excellent written and oral communication

• Ability to follow up firmly but professionally with:

- Vendors

- Auditors

- Banks

- Internal stakeholders

• Language skills:

- English – mandatory

- Hindi & Kannada – strong plus

- Other local languages – added advantage

QUALIFICATIONS & PROFILE

• CA preferred; CS acceptable

• Strong SME / growth-stage experience valued over pedigree

• 5–10 years relevant experience

• Exposure to audits, banks, compliance-heavy environments
