Core Responsibilities

The Finance Manager looks through the windshield, whereas accounting roles often look through the rearview mirror.

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Developing the long-term financial roadmap. This includes deciding if the hospital should purchase a new MRI machine or lease it based on projected patient volume.
  • Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Management: Evaluating the Return on Investment (ROI) for new wings, specialized clinics (e.g., a new Dialysis Center), or upgraded HIS (Hospital Information Systems).
  • Pricing Strategy: Analyzing the cost-to-serve for various procedures (e.g., an appendectomy) and setting competitive yet profitable rates for self-pay and HMO patients.
  • Working Capital Optimization: Balancing the cash on hand. This is critical in healthcare because hospitals must pay for supplies and staff immediately, even if PhilHealth...
