The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance team in Toowong on a 12-month contract. You will play a key role in assisting the Finance Manager with the accounting function for several companies within Auto & General, maintaining best-practice control and ensuring seamless delivery to operational finance. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-performing team within a rapidly growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management reports and annual financial statements
• Processing journals, including accruals, prepayments, and provisionsGeneral ledger reconciliations
• Analysis of company expenditure
• Management reporting pack preparation
• Review and approval of AP/AR workflows
• P&L review, cost allocation, and analysis
• Assistance with the annual external audit
• Support the business with financial enquiries
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as required
• Seek continuous improvement of financial accounting processes
• Comply with workplace health & safety protocols

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree qualified in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, working towards or newly CPA/CA qualified
• Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounting role within a commercial or chartered environment
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Gmail, and an integrated financial software package
• Experience with business intelligence software
• Self-motivated, efficient, and able to work autonomously
• Strong team player with initiative and attention to detail
