Remote | Global | Full-Time or Part-Time


We’re a fast-growing DTC e-commerce company operating across Shopify, Amazon FBA, and TikTok Shop , with complex inventory, multi-supplier sourcing (China + USA), and meaningful monthly ad spend.

We are looking for a Financial Controller whose sole focus is extremely accurate, true accrual-based accounting .


This is not a bookkeeping role.

This is not a strategic finance or CFO role.

This is an operator role focused on correctness, speed, and discipline.

What This Role is Responsible For


You will own accrual accounting accuracy end-to-end .


Your responsibilities include:


  • Full monthly close ownership
  • Accrual revenue recognition across Shopify, Amazon FBA (A2X), and TikTok Shop
  • Inventory & balance sheet accuracy
  • Multiple SKUs
  • Multiple suppliers (China + USA)
  • Variable landed costs (freight, duties, domestic forwarding)
  • COGS accuracy
  • Product cost
  • Landed cost allocation
  • Cost variance handling
  • Ad spend accrual (timing accuracy, not cash-basis)
  • 3PL accounting
  • US-based 3PL
  • International (China-based) fulfillment
  • Weekly true-accrual reporting
  • Weekly P&L
  • Weekly balance sheet
  • Monthly close delivered fast, clean, and accurate


You will work primarily in QuickBooks Online and spread sheets.

You will report directly to the CEO and operate as an individual contributor.


What We Measure You On


Your #1 KPI:

Accurate accrual-based P&Ls and balance sheets, delivered quickly and consistently.

We measure success by:

  • Accuracy of numbers
  • Speed of close
  • Confidence in inventory & COGS
  • Zero ambiguity in margins


You Should Apply ONLY IF:


This role is only for someone who already understands e-commerce accounting at depth .

You should have:


  • Accrual accounting in DTC e-commerce
  • Shopify accounting
  • Amazon FBA + A2X
  • Inventory accounting with landed cost allocation
  • Managing COGS variability
  • Accruing ad spend and SaaS tools (e.g. Triple Whale)
  • Closing books on a strict timeline
  • Subscription and transaction fees
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal hand-holding


Do NOT Apply If


  • You are primarily a bookkeeper
  • You’ve only worked on cash-basis books
  • You have no real inventory or landed cost experience
  • You need training on how e-commerce financials work
  • Your background is public accounting without DTC exposure

This role requires immediate competence , not ramp-up training.


Compensation & Structure:


  • Paid bi-weekly
  • Full-time or part-time (open to both for the right person)
  • Remote / global
  • Compensation is competitive and based on experience
