Experience Required:

8–10 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, and financial control roles


Job Summary:

The Finance Controller will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, effective internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role requires strong leadership, deep accounting knowledge, and hands-on experience in financial management,   cash  flow planning, capital management financial  projections and fundraising efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Control

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements along with internal and external teams.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reports
  • Manage general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance frameworks

Accounting & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS / Ind AS / GAAP as applicable)
  • Handle statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws (GST, VAT, Income Tax, etc.)
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulators

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
  • Monitor budget vs. actual performance and analyze variances
  • Provide actionable financial insights to management

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Monitor and manage cash flows, liquidity, and working capital
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and treasury operations
  • Optimize cash management and cost controls

Management Reporting & Decision Support

  • Review MIS reports and dashboards with senior management
  • Support strategic initiatives with financial analysis and modeling
  • Evaluate business performance, investments, and cost-saving initiatives

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team
  • Ensure process efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Set KPIs and performance goals for the finance team

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Improve financial processes through automation and best practices
  • Support system implementations or upgrades when required

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial controls
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel

Qualifications:

  • CA / CPA / CMA / ACCA or MBA (Finance)
  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles
  • Prior experience as Finance Controller, Senior Manager Finance, or similar role in a D2C Organisation.
  • Should have led a fund raised rounds till  series a minimum.
  • Should have knowledge of all due diligence processes of fund raising efforts.
