Job Title: Firefighting Engineer

Job Description :

  • Study client input and attend project meetings to understand the project requirements, planning deliverable submission in line with project specific Schedule.
  • Preparation of Design Basis Report / Overall philosophy.
  • Preparation of Fire Fighting System, Fire & Gas Detection & Alarm System Layouts Such as Hydrant, Sprinkler, Spray, Foam systems, Detection & Extinguisher Locations, Cause and Effect Matrix etc.,
  • Preparation of RFQ / Technical Specifications & Data sheets for Fire Fighting and Detection & Alarm System Components.
  • Preparation of Bill of quantities for Fire Fighting and Detection & Alarm Systems
  • Preparation of Technical Bid Analysis for the offers from Multiple Vendors.
  • Co-ordination with Client, Insurance agencies, Vendors / OEM and Contractors.


Key Responsibilities:

Fire Protection System Design & Engineering:

  • Design and develop fire protection systems, including sprinklers, alarms, hydrants, and suppression systems.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations for fire suppression systems.
  • Select appropriate fire safety equipment and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international fire safety codes (e.g., NFPA, OSHA, and local regulations).

Installation & Maintenance:

  • Supervise the installation of fire protection systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire alarms, extinguishers, and suppression systems.
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, and engineers to integrate fire safety features into building designs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty fire protection systems.

Safety Compliance & Risk Assessment:

  • Conduct fire risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Develop fire evacuation plans and conduct fire drills.
  • Provide fire safety training for employees and building occupants.
  • Assist in fire investigations to determine the cause and recommend preventive measures.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for fire protection projects.
  • Maintain records of inspections, tests, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with project timelines and budget constraints.
