Fire Technician

Maintenance and Inspection (PPM): Perform regular Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) on fire alarms, smoke detectors, heat detectors, annunciators, and strobe sounders. Inspect and test fire extinguishers, fire hoses, reels, hydrants, and sprinkler systems. Inspect and maintain specialized systems like gaseous fire suppression systems (e.g., FM200, CO2) and kitchen fire suppression systems. Maintain fire and smoke doors, exit lighting, and emergency exit pathways. System Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct routine inspections of fire alarm control panels, diagnosing and repairing faults, false alarms, and damaged components. Test the functionality of fire dampers, water flow switches, and pressure switches. Ensure proper integration between fire alarm systems and Building Automation Systems (BAS) or HVAC systems for automatic shutdown/dampening during alarms. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all equipment complies with NFPA standards, local fire codes, and safety regulations. Maintain detailed documentation, logs, and records of all inspections, tests, and maintenance activities. Assist with fire safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards. Emergency Response and Coordination: Support security teams in fire drills and evacuation exercises. Respond immediately to emergency service calls for system malfunctions. Provide technical support in analyzing fire risks and ensuring emergency, first-aid, and firefighting equipment is ready for use. General Support: Supervise external contractors during major installation or maintenance works. Train building occupants on the operation of fire safety systems when necessary.
