Firefighter (Full-time, Permanent)

Position Overview

The Firefighter, under the general direction of the General Manager of Protective Services and reporting to the Fire Chief or designate, is responsible for ensuring the operational readiness of apparatus and equipment during their shift at their assigned station. The role includes providing emergency response in accordance with Yellowhead County Fire Services Standards.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform functionality checks of all equipment used during the shift.
• Report for duty on time, in uniform, every day.
• Operate as a member of the firefighting crew.
• Maintain and clean apparatus, equipment, and facilities as directed.
• Participate in training for fire and rescue equipment.
• Follow instructions from the firefighting crew officer.
• Respond to emergency call-backs as needed.
