Job Description

On behalf of Autonomo Pty Ltd, Autonomo is seeking a Site‑Based – Fitter AHS Supervisor (S26). This role will play an integral part in our projects and long‑standing teams, responsible for the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead mechanical fitting activities related to Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) and associated heavy mobile equipment on site.
  • Perform hands‑on mechanical fitting, installation, maintenance, overhaul and fault rectification of autonomous and semi‑autonomous mining equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in engines, transmissions, braking systems, hydraulic systems, steering components and chassis assemblies.
  • Oversee installation, removal and calibration of AHS hardware and mechanical interfaces on haul trucks and ancillary equipment.
  • Ensure mechanical works are carried out in accordance with OEM specifications, site procedures and Australian Standards.
  • Conduct inspections, condition monitoring and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and availability.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring and task allocation to fitters and trades assistants, ensuring correct fitting techniques and safe work practices.
  • Verify job completion, quality of workmanship and mechanical compliance before equipment is returned to service.
  • Coordinate with engineers, automation technicians and site stakeholders to manage mechanical aspects of AHS commissioning, upgrades and repairs.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and OEM manuals relevant to autonomous equipment installations.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety systems, isolation procedures and S26 statutory obligations during mechanical works.
  • Participate in breakdown response and root‑cause analysis related to mechanical failures of autonomous equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, defect reports and service documentation in site maintenance systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance mechanical reliability and performance of AHS‑equipped fleets.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Heavy or light mobile equipment experience.
  • Mobile radio network experience (LTE, Wi‑Fi).
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Relevant trade certificate (Australian).
  • AHS knowledge and installation experience.
  • Minesite experience.
  • Good people‑management skills.
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol screens.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Commitment to work across multiple clients, sites and locations throughout Perth and Western Australia.
