Location: [Bangalore] Department: Product Development / Manufacturing & Quality Reports To: Founder / Head of Operations Experience: 36 years (preferred in beverages or flavour applications) Role Overview Were looking for a passionate and hands-on Food Technologist to lead New Product Development (NPD) for our upcoming beverage range. The ideal candidate is someone who can blend creativity with technical expertise translating consumer insights and flavor ideas into scalable, commercially viable products. The role involves ownership of product formulation, manufacturing scale-up, vendor coordination, and quality systems to ensure consistency from lab to market. Key Responsibilities 1. Product Development Lead end-to-end NPD for beverages from concept to pilot to commercial scale. Develop and optimize formulations for flavor, texture, stability, cost, and shelf-life. Work with marketing and category teams to identify white spaces and trends. Conduct sensory evaluations and consumer trials for prototype validation. 2. Vendor & Ingredient Collaboration Collaborate with flavor houses, ingredient suppliers, and co-packers for sourcing, trials, and innovation. Evaluate and approve raw materials and ingredients per regulatory and sensory standards. Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers for ongoing product innovation. 3. Manufacturing Ownership Oversee pilot and commercial manufacturing runs. Ensure adherence to product specifications and process parameters during production. Support process optimization for cost, yield, and quality improvement. Work with production teams to resolve formulation and process challenges. 4. Quality & Compliance Define and maintain quality standards for raw materials and finished goods. Ensure compliance with FSSAI and internal regulatory requirements. Prior exposure to flavor houses (e.g., Givaudan, IFF, Firmenich, Mane, etc.) or ingredient suppliers is a plus. Experience in process scale-up and manufacturing supervision. Strong knowledge of FSSAI, food safety, and quality control systems. Creative, experimental, and consumer-focused mindset.
