Relevant Trade Certificate III in carpentry or equivalent work experience required with a Minimum three years’ trade carpentry formwork experience. Must have own transport

and tools and current police clearance. The right candidate must be reliable, flexible and hardworking with a full knowledge of all OH&S practices Formwork Carpenters

necessary skills are:

read and interpret working plans and blue prints,

be proficient in measuring and cutting (as premade form sizes don’t always match the exact structure dimensions), construct fillers to bridge gaps.

Assemble manufactured structures (forms), made from steel, wood or heavy plastic.

Carry heavy forms, spray them with oil to keep the concrete from sticking, secures forms with iron rods and insert steel reinforcement to give the concrete strength.

Once the concrete sets, strip the forms, clean them and prep them for the next project.

In the case of high-rise buildings and tall structures, build new forms on top of previously poured concrete (slipforming), where the work follows a repetitive process of forming, pouring, forming and pouring.

Pouring of vertical concrete installations and removal, framing and decking operations, pouring of vertical concrete, distinguishing between different types of material and equipment.

Carry out setting out, levelling operations with accurate measurements and calculations

Erect and dismantle formwork for footings and slabs on ground

Construct, erect and dismantle formwork for stairs and ramps

Erect and dismantle formwork to suspended slabs, columns, beams and walls

Erect and dismantle jump form formwork

Erect and dismantle slip form formwork

Operate elevated work platforms

Working during inclement weather, could be exposed to extreme cold and heat, noise and dust from construction operations depending upon project site.

Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 25kg of material and up to 50kg of material with assistance, if requested.

Frequently walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching and climbing.

Frequent use of hand tools such as concrete pokers, jumping jacks, compactors, power tools, circular saws, hammers, nails, and bolts.

Work requires alert individuals with good balance and physical strength.
