We’re partnering with a high growth AgTech startup (AI-Forecasting for Growers + Supply Chain) that’s been quietly building for ~5 years and is now ready to scale. Backed by strong product-market pull and a growing customer base, they’re about to enter a major growth chapter with an official go-to-market launch across Australia.
This Founding Business Development Manager role is an opportunity to shape GTM and make significant impact on an expanding customer base. This business sits at the intersection of AI + crop/commodity intelligence , helping growers and agribusinesses forecast yield , optimise decisions, and improve supply chain outcomes. With Australia as the current growth engine, they’re building the commercial foundation to expand into new segments and international markets next.
About you / requirements
- Passionate about digital agriculture and the use of AI to boost supply‑chain efficiency and improve outcomes for growers.
- 2–4 years of closing experience ; you can navigate a funnel end-to-end, spot deal momentum, and drive to close.
- Knowledge of agriculture and relevant commodity markets , including cropping systems and downstream commodity dynamics.
- An executor in a low‑structure environment
And ideally you also bring:
- Experience selling into growers, agronomists, ag retailers, grain/commodity supply chain, or ag‑adjacent finance/insurance .
- Confidence running product demos, value conversations, and commercial negotiations without heavy enablement.
- Willingness to travel locally to be on‑farm / in‑field when it helps move deals forward.
What you’ll be doing
- Converting a strong inbound pipeline and building consistent new revenue in Australia.
- Selling to two core customer groups: growers and supply‑chain / market participants .
- Helping open new segments over time (e.g., banks, insurers, processors, advisors).
- Feeding learnings back into product and messaging as the GTM playbook takes shape.
- Working directly with the founders and technical team to scale adoption.
