In Studio is building a next-generation home & living platform, a shoppable Pinterest for the home, where inspiration, visualisation and commerce come together in one seamless digital experience. The platform enables consumers to discover curated looks, visualise products in their own spaces using AI-enabled tools, and shop across furniture, décor and lighting through integrated supply partners.
We are creating a category-defining platform at the intersection of content, commerce and visual technology, and are assembling a high-ownership founding team to build this from the ground up.
Role Description
As the Founding CTO – Core Team, you will lead both the technical and product development of the platform from day zero. You will be responsible for defining the system architecture, building the core product, and shaping the long-term technology and product roadmap.
You will work closely with the founder and cross-functional teams to translate user needs and business objectives into scalable product and technology solutions, while driving fast, high-quality execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning end-to-end platform architecture and software development
- Driving product development across discovery, visualisation and commerce journeys
- Partnering with the founder on product strategy, roadmap and feature prioritisation
- Building AI-enabled recommendation and personalisation systems
- Leading development of real-room visualisation and digital staging tools
- Designing scalable systems for marketplace, supply integrations and payments
- Overseeing project execution and ensuring timely delivery of releases
- Establishing engineering best practices for performance, security and reliability
- Hiring, mentoring and leading the engineering team as the company scales
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurgaon.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in software development, system design and architecture
- Experience in both product development and technical execution
- Ability to translate user problems into well-defined product and technical solutions
- Experience managing projects and delivering complex systems in fast-moving environments
- Knowledge of IT strategy and scalable technology implementation
- Exposure to AI/ML systems, recommendation engines or personalisation platforms preferred
- Strong product mindset with a focus on user experience and business outcomes
- Proven ability to thrive in early-stage startup environments
- Strong leadership, ownership and cross-team collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- Tier-1 engineering background (IITs / NITs / IIITs / BITS) is a plus
