Valyx builds AI-native systems that automate revenue for B2B companies by owning the contract-to-cash workflow — billing, collections, disputes, and ERP posting. Think AI agents for B2B finance teams, already used by large enterprises.
We’re hiring a Founding Backend Lead. This role comes with real ownership and meaningful equity.
What you’ll own
Backend and infrastructure end-to-end for a core product area
Architecture and key technical decisions
Quality, reliability, and velocity of backend systems
Hiring and growing the backend team
What you’ll do
Design and build backend systems in Python
Ship production code continuously
Build AI-native workflows that interact with real enterprise systems
Work closely with founders, product, and customers
Make trade-offs under real constraints
Who this is for
6+ years of backend engineering experience (Python-heavy)
Strong fundamentals and clear engineering judgment
Comfortable with ambiguity and ownership
Ex-founders or early-stage builders preferred
Uses AI tools heavily and understands what’s happening under the hood
What this is not
A narrow or purely managerial role
Process-heavy or bureaucracy-driven
Infra-for-infra’s-sake
