We are now building the digital backbone of this model: a proprietary, AI-native recruitment platform designed by recruiters, for recruiters and purpose-built for the clean energy and infrastructure ecosystem.

This is not another ATS.

This is a recruitment operating system.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Founding Engineer / CTO to architect and build the Select TMS platform from the ground up.

You will own the technical vision and execution of a fully integrated system that combines:

  • ATS + CRM
  • Deep LinkedIn and sourcing workflow integration
  • AI-driven candidate discovery, matching, and prioritisation
  • Real-time reporting and hiring intelligence
  • A living, constantly updated proprietary talent database
  • Interfaces for recruiters, employers, and candidates to interact seamlessly

Our ambition is to own the AI recruitment ecosystem for clean energy and infrastructure, delivering a platform that feels intuitive, powerful, and human, rather than automated and cold.

What You'll Build

You will lead the design and development of a platform that includes:

  • A proprietary ATS + CRM, tailored specifically to recruiter workflows
  • Deep LinkedIn and sourcing tool integrations (search, outreach, pipeline management)
  • AI-assisted candidate discovery, ranking, and shortlisting, augmenting recruiter judgment, not replacing it
  • A clean, intuitive UX that makes finding and engaging candidates faster and more natural than ever
  • A living talent database, the most targeted renewable energy and infrastructure candidate ecosystem globally
  • Advanced reporting and analytics for clients (time-to-hire, pipeline health, source performance, diversity metrics, cost efficiency)
  • Secure, role-based access for clients as an add-on service
  • Candidate-facing interfaces that allow jobseekers and employers to interact meaningfully
  • A scalable architecture that can grow into adjacent sectors beyond clean energy

Your Role

As Founding Engineer / CTO, you will:

  • Own the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap
  • Design and build the platform end-to-end (initially hands-on, later leading a team)
  • Make key decisions around tech stack, data architecture, AI models, and integrations
  • Translate recruiter workflows and human decision-making into intuitive digital systems
  • Ensure the product balances AI capability with human usability
  • Build with security, scalability, and compliance in mind from day one
  • Recruit and lead the future engineering team as the platform scales
  • Partner directly with the founder on product direction, prioritisation, and long-term strategy

Who We're Looking For

This role is for a builder, someone who wants to create something category-defining, not maintain legacy systems.

You might be a great fit if you have:

  • Strong experience as a software engineer / technical founder / early-stage CTO
  • A track record of building complex, data-driven platforms from scratch
  • Experience with AI/ML integration, recommendation systems, or intelligent workflows
  • Deep understanding of product architecture and user experience, not just code
  • Comfort owning decisions across backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure
  • Strong opinions, loosely held, and the ability to think several moves ahead
  • An interest in recruitment, marketplaces, SaaS platforms, or workflow tools (ATS/CRM experience is a plus, not a requirement)
  • A desire to work closely with users and build software around real human behaviour

Tech Stack (Flexible, But Opinionated)

We are open to your recommendations, but expect experience across:

  • Modern backend frameworks (e.g. Node, Python, Go)
  • Scalable frontend architectures (React, Vue, etc.)
  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure)
  • Data pipelines, APIs, and integrations
  • AI/ML tooling (LLMs, embeddings, search, ranking, automation)
  • Secure, multi-tenant SaaS systems
