We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong technical leadership skills and hands-on experience in data infrastructure projects to collaborate on an innovative project developed by Startup Bakery.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee end-to-end data architecture (ingestion, transformation, storage, consumption) on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Coordinate and develop scalable and reliable data pipelines collecting data from IoT devices and other sources.
• Collaborate closely with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to ensure predictive models and analytics are efficient, production-ready, and reproducible.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security, including the definition of standards and best practices.
• Contribute to the design of dashboards and reporting systems to provide actionable insights for agronomists and internal teams.
• Monitor data system performance, handle troubleshooting, and drive continuous optimization.

Must-have

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering roles (ETL/ELT, pipelines, data warehousing).
• Strong proficiency in data programming languages: Python and SQL (other languages are a plus).
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with data modeling concepts, APIs, and IoT integrations.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate small development teams.

Nice-to-have

• Basic knowledge of MLOps and advanced analytics tools.
• Experience working in startups or fast-paced, scalable environments.
