Freight & Transportation Manager

Key responsibilities:

Freight Management:

• Ensure vehicle availability as per plan and monitor inbound & outbound freight movements across India.
• Plan and monitor export shipments (FCL, LCL, Air, Courier).
• Coordinate with Transporters, CHA, freight forwarders, and shipping lines for timely clearance and dispatch.
• Ensure compliance with all DGFT, Customs, E-way bill, and port-related regulations and manage documentations for dispatch.
• Optimize routes, loads, and utilization to reduce costs.
• Track shipments, clearances, and proactively resolve delays or issues.
• Track and improve freight KPIs (OTIF, transit time, cost per unit).

Vendor Management:

• Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with domestic transporters, CHA, and freight forwarders.
• Evaluate and monitor vendor performance and compliance.
• Ensure timely payments, documentation, and resolution of disputes.

Cost & Performance Management:

• Track domestic & Export freight costs, analyze variances, and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
• Prepare and monitor freight budgets.
• Drive initiatives for container consolidation and route optimization to reduce costs.

Process Improvement:

• Drive initiatives to improve TAT and reduce dwell times in domestic and export freight.
• Implement tracking systems and dashboards for real-time monitoring.
• Identify opportunities for digitization and automation in freight and Export operations.
