About the Position:
The Software Engineer & Digital Content Producer plays a pivotal role in building and enhancing Windlestone Consulting’s digital ecosystem, which powers its online education platforms, YouTube and Vimeo channels, and finance-modelling tools. This full-stack position combines advanced software development with digital content creation to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain reliable, scalable web applications, backend services, and high-quality educational materials. By ensuring seamless system performance and integrating a solid grasp of finance principles with creative digital design, the role directly supports the delivery of exceptional investor education and contributes to the company’s mission of empowering personal investors through innovative, user-focused technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software systems, web applications, backend services, and technical infrastructure for online education platforms and finance-modelling tools.
- Produce and optimise high-quality digital content, including videos, presentations, and interactive resources for YouTube, Vimeo, and educational courses.
- Build and manage full-stack solutions using modern technologies to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Develop and integrate APIs, databases, and secure backend systems to support educational tools and user experiences.
- Implement performance optimisation, security best practices, and CI/CD workflows to maintain production-grade applications.
- Collaborate on finance-related digital assets, applying an understanding of investment principles to create accurate and engaging content such as PowerPoint designs and modelling tools.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve existing systems to support ongoing platform enhancements and content delivery.
Requirements:
- Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field, plus at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience designing, building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade web applications, including backend systems, databases, and APIs.
- Demonstrated experience with performance optimisation, security best practices, and scalability planning.
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (with Vue), Python (Django, Selenium), SQL, WordPress (including Google Tag Manager), API development, version control (Git), CI/CD tools and workflows, and cloud platforms (AWS).
- Strong understanding of software architecture, testing methodologies, and secure coding practices.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint design and a demonstrated understanding of finance principles (highly desirable).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a small, dynamic team.
