Functional Safety Software Architect

Help shape the future of mobility.

You will be leading the Engineering Team working on Functional Safety software. In particular you will be responsible for:

Your Role

  • Analyzing customer requirements and Design high-level Software Architecture, including defining safety and control data flows
  • Verify that FuSa software architecture design meets all derived software requirements (performance, throughput/latency, moding, )
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to bring innovation or overcome the obstacles
  • Play the role of technical interface to external stake holders
  • Play the role of technical mentor for the team
  • Key Responsibilities

    1. Functional Safety Architecture & Design

  • Define and own the software safety architecture for automotive ECUs (ASIL B–D).
  • Derive software safety requirements (SSRs) from system safety requirements and technical safety concepts.
  • Lead the design of fault-tolerant, safe-state, and diagnostic concepts.
  • Ensure traceability from hazard analysis to technical safety requirements and software implementation.
  • 2. ISO 26262 Compliance

  • Ensure all safety work products comply with ISO 26262.
  • Support creation and review of:Software Safety RequirementsSoftware Architecture DesignSafety Cases and Safety Assessments
  • Collaborate with the Functional Safety Manager for audits and assessments.
  • 3. Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical direction to software development teams on safety‑critical design.
  • Support code reviews and architecture reviews focusing on safety mechanisms.
  • Mentor engineers on FuSa principles, safe coding, and architectural best practices.
  • 4. Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work with System Architects to align software architecture with system design.
  • Coordinate with Hardware Engineering for HW/SW interface safety compliance.
  • 5. Safety Analysis & Validation

  • Perform or support safety analyses such as:FMEA / DFMEAFTAFMEDA
  • Define and review software test strategies for safety validation—including robustness tests, fault injection, boundary value analysis, and integration tests.
  • Your Background

    Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are your:

  • BE/B.Tech (Electricals/Electronics/ Communication/ Instrumentation/ Robotics)/Any PG with an experience of a minimum of 10 years
  • #EXP[10-14]
  • Experience in embedded Automotive real time software engineering , Good understanding & experience in leading group of Engineers
  • Experience in MISRA C, 16/32 bit Controller, multi OS Architecture
