Furniture Designer

Key responsibilities:

1. Concept creation of user centric furniture product thought multiple ideations.
2. Manufacturer and vendor coordination to develop and understand the new product development.
3. Deliver working drawings and renderings for manufacturing.
4. Ability to oversee the technical constraints in furniture quality and give solutions.
5. Market research on furniture both primary and secondary research.
6. Understanding of design trends in and represent in form mood boards.
7. Competitor analysis – running products, functionality and price range.
8. Product presentation for discussions.

Key Skills:

1. Strong creative and problem-solving skills required for designing furniture products.
2. Knowledge on furniture product form, function, users, dimensions, ergonomics and basic physics and calculation.
3. Experience and Knowledge on materials like engineered wood, solid wood, metal and upholstery.
4. Brain storming and clear communication skills with all the stake holders related to the product.
5. Quick sketches on paper or digital for product ideation before modelling.
6. Excellent modelling skills of the furniture product and Visualizations
7. Software proficiency (modelling and visualization): AutoCAD, Rhino, Sketchup, Key shot and Blender. (any related software skills are accepted).
8. Software proficiency (presentation): Adobe InDesign, Photoshop. MS PowerPoint or Canva.
9. Strong project management abilities, working with MS Excel or Google Sheets is a plus.

Qualification & Experience:

B.Des or M.Des in Furniture Design from reputed institute.
