Furniture Designer – Product & Catalogue Development
Location: Bangalore

Role Overview
We are looking for a Furniture Designer – Product & Catalogue Development to lead the design and development of Verbarq’s furniture collections for brand catalogues and showroom displays.
This role involves:
- Designing original furniture products
- Developing prototypes and samples
- Ensuring manufacturing feasibility
- Building a cohesive and scalable product catalogue for the Verbarq furniture line
You will work closely with the internal design, prototyping, and factory teams to take products from concept to production‑ready catalogue pieces.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Catalogue Design
- Design furniture collections aligned with Verbarq’s brand language, target market, and showroom requirements
- Develop furniture pieces across seating, tables, storage, beds, and accent furniture
- Ensure consistency across collections in proportions, materials, finishes, and detailing
Concept to Prototype Development
- Translate design concepts into detailed drawings and 3 D models suitable for prototyping
- Coordinate with factory and workshop teams for mock‑ups, samples, and full‑scale prototypes
- Participate in prototype reviews and refine designs based on material behaviour, ergonomics, and production feedback
Manufacturing & Technical Development
- Prepare production‑ready drawings, joinery details, material specifications, and finish references
- Ensure designs are optimised for repeatable manufacturing, quality control, and scalability
- Work closely with craftsmen, vendors, and production heads to resolve technical challenges
Brand & Showroom Support
- Develop furniture pieces specifically for Verbarq showrooms and display setups
- Support visual consistency across product design, catalogue imagery, and physical display models
- Assist with documentation for catalogues, lookbooks, and internal product libraries
Research & Design Direction
- Research furniture trends, materials, hardware, finishes, and construction techniques
- Explore innovations in sustainable materials, modularity, and efficient manufacturing systems
- Contribute to the long‑term design direction of Verbarq’s furniture collections
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of furniture proportions, ergonomics, materials, and construction
- Proficiency in Auto CAD for detailed drawings
- Proficiency in Sketch Up and/or Rhino for 3 D modelling
- Good understanding of prototyping and manufacturing workflows
- Ability to balance design intent with cost, durability, and production feasibility
- High attention to detail with a strong aesthetic sensibility
- Clear communication with factory teams and internal stakeholders
Added Advantage
- Experience in execution and detailing of wall panelling, wardrobes, and modular/custom kitchens
- Practical exposure to joinery detailing, hardware integration, tolerances, and on‑site execution constraints
- Ability to translate execution learnings into better‑designed, production‑friendly catalogue products
Education & Experience
- Degree or Diploma in Furniture Design
- 3–7 years of experience in furniture or product design, preferably in a manufacturing‑oriented environment
- Experience in developing products for catalogues or collections is a strong advantage
