About The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist (DM/DrNB) to join a high-volume on-site clinical team in Assam. The role combines clinical practice, advanced endoscopic procedures, multidisciplinary coordination and opportunities for teaching and quality improvement. The ideal candidate will deliver excellent patient outcomes across diagnostic and therapeutic GI services.

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology consultations, diagnostic workups and longitudinal care plans for adults with GI, liver and pancreatic disorders.
• Perform and report diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP and EUS as clinically indicated, maintaining procedural safety and documentation.
• Manage acute GI emergencies (bleeding, obstruction, severe pancreatitis) and coordinate care with ICU, surgery and radiology teams.
• Lead multidisciplinary case discussions, contribute to evidence-based treatment pathways, and ensure appropriate follow-up and referral coordination.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, audit procedural outcomes, and participate in clinical governance and quality-improvement initiatives.
• Support training and mentorship of junior doctors, nursing staff and endoscopy technicians; participate in continuing medical education activities.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• DM or DrNB in Gastroenterology
• Registered with the National Medical Commission (or state medical council) and eligible to practice in India
• Proven competence in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (EGD, colonoscopy) with safe procedural practice
• Experience managing complex GI cases including GI bleeding, IBD, liver and pancreatic diseases
  
  

Preferred

• Advanced training or fellowship experience in ERCP and/or EUS
• Prior experience in a high-volume tertiary centre, involvement in audits, publications or teaching activities
