STRUCTURAL PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER




Delta Construction Partners is a national executive search firm for the nation’s premier electrical, mechanical, and general contractors and industry professionals. Delta has been retained by a confidential general contractor client to conduct a search for a Structural Professional Engineer in Tampa, FL.



STRUCTURAL PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER Compensation and Benefits

Total compensation for the Structural Professional Engineer in Tampa or Orlando, FL is competitive and includes:

  • STRUCTURAL PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble structural drawings, repair drawings, and specifications for permitting and construction

  • Perform analysis of existing structures and design of new construction

  • Solve problems arising during projects

  • Manage and lead others to complete client projects

  • Responsible for development of client relationships

  • Assist with new client prospects/proposals

  • Review project submittals and shop drawings

  • Prepare initial invoices and assist in billing

  • Schedule jobs and maintain workflow

  • Attend meetings and make job site visits

  • Maintain project files and databases

  • Perform inspections, including roofs, crawl spaces, and attics



  • STRUCTURAL PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER Qualifications

    Education / Licenses:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited school required)

  • Professional Engineer License in the State of Florida (required)

  • EI (required if not already PE)

  • Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years in new construction design and/or analysis of residential and commercial structures

  • Preferred 10–20 years’ experience designing residential and commercial buildings

  • Required Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to perform structural calculations and design analyses

  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents

  • Working knowledge of:

    Wood Design

    Masonry Design

    Concrete Design

    Steel Design

    Foundation Design

    Wind Design

  • Ability to climb ladders, crawl in attics and crawl spaces, and walk on roofs

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Understanding of AutoCAD

  • Building code analysis and interpretation

  • Attention to detail

  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and manage projects from conception to construction administration
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
