**Role: GCP (Google Cloud Platform) Infra Architect**

**Location:** Candidates will need to work 5 days a week from the Client’s office in Seattle, Washington from Monday to Friday. Hybrid or remote work is not an option.

**About this Team and Role**
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Architect with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure. This role requires deep technical expertise in Terraform, Kubernetes architecture, and DevOps best practices, along with excellent communication skills to interact directly with clients and cross-functional teams.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Design & Implement GCP Network Infrastructure: Architect and build secure, scalable network components including VPCs, VPNs, routing, and interconnects aligned to organizational requirements.
+ Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and manage reusable Terraform modules for provisioning cloud infrastructure across multiple environments.
+ Kubernetes Platform Engineering: Design and manage Kubernetes clusters using GKE, including Helm-based deployments, configuration tuning, service mesh (Istio), and autoscaling strategies.
+ Monitoring & Performance Management: Implement monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Cloud Monitoring) and proactively troubleshoot latency, throughput, and availability issues.
+ Security & Compliance: Collaborate with security teams to enforce IAM, firewall rules, network policies, and compliance frameworks across the GCP footprint.
+ Client Engagement & Solutioning: Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions while ensuring best practices are followed.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Strong proficiency in Terraform, including module authoring and environment management.
+ Experience with DevOps tools and practices for CI/CD automation.
+ In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes cluster architecture, container lifecycle, and administrative functions.
+ Familiarity with configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Config Connector).
+ Hands-on experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Cloud Operations Suite.
+ GCP certifications and CKA/CKAD are highly desirable.
**Certifications Required:** Google Professional Cloud Architect Certification
**Mandatory Skills:**
+ Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
+ Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and manage reusable Terraform modules

**Salary and Other Compensation:**
The annual salary for the position is between $120,000 - $140,000/year and depends on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
