GCP Platform Site Reliability Engineer

For a prestigious Manufacturing company we are looking for a GCP Platform Site Reliability Engineer.

Location: Barcelona (Hybrid – 2 days/week in the office)

Contract Type: Permanent, full-time

We’re looking for a Senior GCP Platform Site Reliability Engineer to join a global tech center in Barcelona , supporting millions of customers and thousands of stores worldwide.

You’ll be part of a highly skilled international team building and maintaining a modern, scalable platform to support critical digital products — including customer engagement solutions like loyalty apps and digital services used across multiple countries.

Your Mission

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in migrating to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and designing the infrastructure and tooling that empowers development teams across the company.

You’ll work in a modern tech ecosystem (.NET, React, Kubernetes, GCP), creating reliable, observable, and automated systems that enable developers to focus on innovation.

What You’ll Do

• Build and evolve a multi-cloud Kubernetes platform to support multiple domains and squads.
• Automate and optimize CI/CD, GitOps, and observability pipelines.
• Design and implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and GCP services.
• Collaborate with software teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Promote a self-service model via a Developer Portal, empowering teams to own their infrastructure.
• Research, evaluate, and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact, enterprise-wide solutions.

Your Profile

• 7+ years of experience as an SRE or Platform Engineer in large-scale environments.
• Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes .
• Strong skills in Terraform , GitOps , and CI/CD automation .
• Solid understanding of observability stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, OpenTelemetry).
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
• Knowledge of cloud networking and security best practices.
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus) is a plus.
• Passion for automation, platform design, and developer enablement.
• Comfortable working in complex enterprise environments with multiple teams and stakeholders.
