Job Description
Overview
The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for keeping financial records accurate and up to date. This includes posting journal entries, doing account and bank reconciliations, managing fixed assets, and helping with month-end close. The role also supports audits, handles intercompany transactions, prepares cash flow reports, and works with other teams to make sure financial data is correct. The accountant may also help with system improvements and other tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries including accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Prepare cash flow reports and analyze actual cash versus forecasted amounts.
