Due to our continued growth we have an opportunity for an experienced General Manager to lead our Queensland offices (Brisbane, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsvile, Cairns).

The Role

The General Manager QLD is a pivotal leadership role within AE Smith, overseeing a $40m service business comprising Mechanical and Electrical services. The role is responsible for strategic growth, operational excellence, and cultivating strong customer relationships. This individual will ensure that projects and services are delivered to the highest safety and quality standards while driving team development and fostering a high-performance culture.

Day to days will vary but will include:

  • Drive customer account management and relationship growth
  • Develop key resources and foster a winning, high-performance culture
  • Ensure Projects and Services meet our delivery management, safety, and quality standards
  • Develop and implement streamlined, efficient business processes across all regions
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce errors
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements and contract obligations
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development for operational support teams.

Must Haves

  • Proven experience leading a complex business in the building services or related sector
  • Strong track record of delivering results and managing relationships with high-profile customers
  • A Leader who embodies AE Smith’s values of professionalism, trust, relaibility & excellence
  • MBA or equivalent leadership training would be advantageous
