Job Description

The organization is a major Properties division within a national group. They focus on the strategic leadership and operational performance of a large-scale property and facility portfolio. The culture is centered on Zero Harm , asset resilience, and data-driven operational excellence.

Scope

  • National Oversight : Responsible for the direction of maintenance, engineering, and site operations across all properties nationally.
  • Technical Authority : Acts as the primary lead for critical infrastructure, including BMS, HVAC, Power Generation, and Elevators .
  • Operational Readiness : Ensures that multi-site service delivery teams and 3rd-party providers are aligned with corporate strategy and HSSEQ standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Reliability : Oversees asset uptime for critical systems (Power, Water, HVAC, Lifts, and BMS) to meet or exceed SLA targets.
  • Vendor & Contract Management : Manages 3rd-party service providers , running competitive tenders and negotiating framework agreements for critical vendors.
  • Strategic Asset Management : Drives lifecycle discipline through 10-year CAPEX plans and condition assessments.
  • Performance Monitoring : Implements CMMS and BMS improvements and presents monthly dashboards on uptime, safety, and costs to executive leadership.
  • Sustainability & Resilience : Leads initiatives for fuel efficiency, solar integration, and emissions tracking.

Qualifications

  • Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, BMS, or Facilities Management) is essential.
  • Industry Background : Preferential focus on candidates with experience in top-tier global real estate and facility management firms such as JLL, CBRE, or Knight Frank .
  • Experience : Minimum 10 years in facilities, engineering, or property operations management.
  • Proven track record in managing multi-site operations and large multidisciplinary teams.
  • Technical Expertise : Direct experience overseeing BMS, HVAC, Power Generation, and Elevators .
  • Strong financial acumen for managing year-on-year reactive spend reduction and building NPV/IRR business cases.
  • Certifications : Professional certifications (e.g., IFMA, FMA ) and WHS/Safety Management certifications are highly desirable.
