Job Description
Intrinsic Project Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to lead the overall performance, growth, and operational excellence of the organisation. This senior leadership role is responsible for setting organisational strategy, policies, and standards while providing day‑to‑day executive direction across construction, project delivery, finance, sales, and corporate functions.
The General Manager will work closely with senior leadership and departmental heads to ensure business objectives are met, profitability is maximised, and high standards of governance, quality, and efficiency are maintained across all residential, commercial, and SDA projects.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and endorse organisational policies, standards, and strategic objectives to support business growth and long‑term success.
- Provide day‑to‑day executive leadership and direction to the organisation, ensuring alignment with company goals, performance targets, and profitability objectives.
- Assess changing market, operational, and regulatory conditions, responding decisively by issuing clear directives to senior management and key staff.
- Consult with departmental heads across construction, finance, sales, human resources, and operations to optimise methods of operation, resource allocation, and equipment requirements.
- Authorise and oversee funding for major projects, initiatives, and policy implementation programmes, ensuring financial discipline and return on investment.
- Represent the organisation at official events, negotiations, industry forums, seminars, public hearings, and stakeholder meetings, acting as a key liaison across areas of responsibility.
- Prepare, or oversee the preparation of, strategic reports, budgets, forecasts, and performance reviews, presenting them to governing bodies and stakeholders as required.
- Select, lead, and manage the performance of senior staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee key business functions, which may include accounting, sales, marketing, human resources, and other specialist operations, ensuring integration and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven senior leadership experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, or similar executive role within construction, project management, or a related industry.
- Strong capability in strategic planning, policy development, and organisational leadership.
- Demonstrated experience managing financial performance, budgets, forecasts, and profit outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing senior staff performance.
- Sound understanding of governance, risk management, and compliance in a construction or project‑driven environment.
- A results‑driven mindset with the ability to adapt to changing business conditions and drive continuous improvement.
