This role will be focused on growing our own dark stores “tMart” in Oman, which is the region’s first dark store concept offering 20 -30 minute delivery of groceries.

  • Setting overall commercial and operations strategy (mission, format positioning) and identifying new market opportunities, setting targets for revenue and growth, and formulating business strategies with platform.

  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for business growth such as partnerships, collaborations, and being responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Working closely with the marketing and growth team to develop strategies for acquiring and retaining customers. This may involve setting marketing campaigns, analyzing customer clusters and optimizing marketing planning.

  •  Accountable for enhancing customer experience in alignment with logistics and customer experience functions by evaluating the service quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Accountable for the company's P&L and managing budget planning, monitoring expenses, and ensuring that financial targets are met. Also, work closely with the finance team to prepare financial reports and forecasts.

  • Accountable for day-to-day operations by implementing efficient processes and procedures. Involved in optimising workflows, improving productivity, and resolving operational issues.

  • Working closely with the product development team to define product roadmaps, prioritise features, and ensure that products are meeting customer needs and market demands.

  • Identifying potential risks to the business and developing strategies to mitigate them. Also assessing market risks, regulatory risks, or operational risks that could impact the company's success.

Qualifications

  • You have at least 10+ years of experience in progressively responsible roles in consumer retail, or  CPG. Alternatively, you might have worked in a consulting capacity in this industry and are looking forward to an operator role. 

  • You have built teams and led cross-functional projects at scale.

  • Experience working within logistics and real estate is also advantageous.

  • You are very detail-oriented, structured and know how to prioritise - you consider yourself as someone who delivers solutions and not bottlenecks to be solved.

  • You are willing to do anything necessary for the project to succeed, including working on the warehouse floor when you are short-staffed to make a customer delivery, or to take customer calls. No job is too insignificant, no detail is too small for you. 

  • You can interact with senior-level executives and can manage the expectations of multiple stakeholders.

  • You are someone energised by the unknown and look forward to learning each day on the job.

  • You have excellent analytical and communication skills, and always like to be hands-on. 

  • Additionally, you have robust interpersonal and intercultural skills. You can inspire several teams and stakeholders to rally behind a mission.

  • You have good connections within the CPG industry and authorities.
