General Practitioner (GP) - Health Workforce Queensland

Job Title:  Virtual VR GP

Practice Information:
In 2021, the Western Queensland Primary Health Network, Health Workforce Queensland, the RACGP Qld and Rural Faculties, and UQ-MRI Centre for Health System Reform and Integration partnered to co-create the VIP Program, where an urban/regional GP joins a rural general practice one day per week for a minimum of 18 months to provide ongoing care to patients remotely via telehealth. The VIP Program aims to support the rural GP workforce and build practice sustainability.

Position Description:
Via this partnership, we have an exciting opportunity for a vocationally registered GP to join a participating QLD rural practice virtually for one day per week (spending 3-5 days at the practice twice yearly). The position will be remunerated at rural locum rates ($1600/8 hour day). 

Qualifications & Experience:
To apply for this position, you must have an urban Medicare provider number, current registration with AHPRA, be eligible for a Medicare provider number with the practice, and have excellent working knowledge of the Medicare Benefits Schedule.
