General Production Worker

Join a leading wire manufacturer in the western United States, specializing in galvanized and reinforcement wire production, with applications in agriculture, construction, transportation, communications, and industrial sectors. You will work on the Galvanizing line, a large, loud production environment where safety is paramount and fear of heights is not an option.

• Operate and monitor galvanizing line equipment, including payoff units, cleaning stations, zinc kettles, cooling sections, and take‑up/winding machinery.
• Feed raw wire into the line, ensuring a continuous and efficient material flow throughout the production process.
• Inspect wire for coating quality, diameter consistency, surface defects, and proper zinc adhesion.
• Perform routine adjustments to line speed, temperature, tension, and coating parameters to maintain product specifications.
• Handle zinc ingots, flux materials, and other production inputs safely and efficiently.
• Conduct basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning equipment, clearing jams, replacing worn components, and reporting mechanical issues.
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements, lockout/tagout, and hot‑metal handling protocols.

• Comfortable working at heights and in high-heat environments.

• Minimum of 2-3 years of tenure in the last job.
• High-heat environment experience near molten zinc kettles.
• Willingness to train on night shifts.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with a company that has been established for nearly a century. The company offers a unionized environment with a supportive and great atmosphere.

The work environment is a large, industrial setting featuring galvanized wire processes. It is hot near zinc kettles, with potential exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and heavy materials. Shifts include swing shift (3pm-11pm), night shift (11pm-7:30am), and day shift (7am-3:30pm), with a 12 days on/2 days off schedule. Safety is a top priority due to the presence of chemicals and heat. The facility can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, and employees must be vigilant about their surroundings at all times.

This is a Permanent position based out of Kent, WA.

The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $47840.00/yr.
