Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Summer Student

Position Summary

th County is recruiting for the position of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Summer Student. The GIS Summer Student will primarily consist of assisting in the maintenance and administration of the Corporation's GIS. Students will have the opportunity to work on a number of projects providing a full range of work experience and exposure to many of the varied duties of GIS staff working in a busy Municipal setting.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create and update data in Esri’s ArcGIS platform
• Perform quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) on data products
• Create maps (hardcopy and web-based)
• Execute data requests with 3rd party contractors
• Update County’s municipal addressing and 9-1-1 map material
• Work closely with the GIS Coordinator and other staff in the development of enterprise datasets
