GES CAD Powertrain - Stack up Analysis & VSA Requirement

  • Job Description:

    Stack up Analysis:

  • Identify the area where Stack up analysis required to determine the worst-case clearance/Interference for the given Design rule condition/request from Engineer

  • Create Assembly file (DC File) with affected Parts in TCe for the stack up Analysis

  • Create Stack loop Diagram in CATIA/3DX with the affected Dimensions/Tolerances/GDT etc.,

  • Create Individual line Items with the Dimensions/Tolerances/GDT details in e Stack tool following the Stack loop diagram

  • PPT creation with the Images showing Stack Path and evidence of details (Dimensions/Tolerances/GDT) taken from the drawings

  • Run Stack up Analysis in e Stack Tool based on the Cpk value confirmed by Engineer

  • Perform Iterations for the Stack up Analysis based on the Design changes and request from Engineer(s)

  • Work closely with Engineers to understand the requirements and support as needed with the Stack up and CAD tasks throughout the entire Product life cycle
  • VSA:

  • Creation of VSA Model - JT & Feature Creation, Tolerance Setup, Model tree build based on Assembly Sequence and Measurement Setup using CATIA, TC Vis VSA & Minitab Tools

  • Run simulation for the VSA Model to find out the 3D variability of System including Process Capability (Cpk), Z Score and DPMO (Defects per million opportunities)

  • Prepare detailed report with the VSA Study details including the Process chart and HLM Contributors for Engineer’s review

  • Perform Iterations for the VSA Studies based on the Design changes and request from Engineers

  • Work closely with Engineers to understand the requirements and support as needed with the VSA Studies throughout the entire Product life cycle
  • General:

  • • Should be flexible to work on other CAD tasks like Drawing Creation, Package studies, Design Proposals etc., if required

  • • Need to take Individual Ownership to deliver the Project tasks with Time management and Quality

  • • Should have Good Problem Solving & Analytical Skills

  • • Candidate should have Good Presentation & communication Skills (Written & Verbal)
  • Skill set:

  • Powertrain Components Stack up Analysis & VSA - CATIA V5, 3DX, Teamcenter, TC Vis & GDT
  • Domain Knowledge:

  • BE/ME Mechanical or Automobile Engineering with 2 to 4 Years of experience in powertrain components, Systems & Sub Systems (Preferably Engine)

  • Familiar with the Stack up concepts to determine the Worst-case clearance/Interference of the components subjected to clearance/Assembly studies and Fastener stack up Analysis

  • Familiar with the VSA concepts and key factors to apply and determine the 3D variations of the components subjected to clearance and Assembly studies

  • strong hands-on Experience in 1D/2D Tolerance Stack up Analysis and VSA (Variation Simulation Analysis) Studies for Powertrain Systems and sub systems using CATIA, GDT, TCe & TC Vis VSA tools

  • Proven ability in Component and Assembly drawing reading

  • Should be Proficient in Microsoft office tools
