Overview
- Pro-active monitoring of supply markets and technology trends (Supply market survey).
- Analyse global spend and identify global and cross-divisional cost reduction opportunities.
- Define and align the Global Category Strategy and the supplier portfolio with x-functional team considering all relevant dimensions such as price, function, technology, quality, delivery performance, environmental/social aspects and business.
- Ensure implementation of Global Category Strategy in close cooperation with operational buyers and sourcing departments of Group Companies.
- Identify and mitigate the category-specific risks for electronics regarding obsolescence, EOL, lead times and single sources.
- Make or Buy: Identify cost-reduction opportunities by outsourcing electronic sub-assemblies to competitive electronic manufacturing service providers.
