Position Summary The Strategic Global Sourcing Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping Polaris’ global sourcing strategy and strengthening supplier capabilities. This leader will drive cost‑effective solutions across assigned commodities, optimize supplier performance, and build a resilient, high‑performing supply base. The role requires a visionary professional who can influence stakeholders, manage complex sourcing initiatives, and foster strong collaboration with cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Product Development, Legal, and NPI Sourcing. Success in this position means aligning supplier strategies with business goals, product roadmaps, and operational resilience while delivering measurable sourcing outcomes. Preferred Qualifications MBA or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain. APICS CPIM or ISM certifications. Experience in sales or engineering in addition to sourcing. Demonstrated success in supplier innovation and global sourcing strategy execution. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field. 10 years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain. 3 years of direct leadership experience or proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams. Strong knowledge of commodity/category management, supplier development, and sourcing best practices. Position Overview This role encompasses strategic sourcing, supplier development, and cross‑functional leadership to ensure Polaris maintains a competitive and resilient supply chain. Key responsibilities include: Developing and executing multi‑year global commodity strategies aligned with business unit goals and product development plans. Collaborating with Product Development, Engineering, and Operations to ensure timely product launches and sourcing decisions. Conducting industry benchmarking, supplier identification, negotiations, and securing internal approvals. Managing annual product cost budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long‑range cost/value creation planning. Driving strategies that support Polaris’ sourcing pillars: Cost Effectiveness, Fulfillment & Delivery, Quality, Engineering Support, Innovation, Risk Management, and People. Leading supplier relationship management, conducting quarterly reviews, and ensuring supplier performance scorecards remain above 90%. Negotiating supplier agreements covering cost, lead times, quality systems, innovation, and risk management. Managing onboarding of new suppliers, compliance with Polaris standards, and development of Tier 2 supplier relationships. Partnering with Quality, Operations, and Planning teams to ensure supplier performance meets corporate objectives. Building and leading high‑performing teams through hiring, coaching, and performance management. Delivering measurable outcomes such as annual cost savings, supplier base consolidation, innovation initiatives, and maintaining supplier performance metrics.
