A growing Australian technology company is hiring a Graduate DevOps / QA Engineer to support the delivery, quality, and operational reliability of modern software platforms used in data-intensive, mission-critical environments.

This is a structured graduate development role, designed for someone at the very start of their career who wants hands-on exposure to DevOps, testing, CI/CD, and production systems, while working closely with experienced engineers.

This is a great pathway into the industry, working closely to the Head of Engineering, gaining first-hand production experience & mentorship into best practices.

Graduate DevOps/QA Engineer Responsibilities

  • Supporting and improving CI/CD pipelines and build automation
  • Assisting with unit and integration testing across multiple systems
  • Helping maintain development and deployment environments
  • Supporting basic containerisation and deployment workflows
  • Assisting with monitoring, logging, and operational checks
  • Writing clear technical documentation, test evidence, and process notes
  • Participating in regular engineering syncs and learning from senior team members
  • This is a hands-on role with strong mentorship and gradual responsibility as your skills develop.
  • STEM degree (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, IT, or similar)
  • Introductory experience with Python and/or scripting (academic or personal projects)
  • Understanding of software engineering principles and the development lifecycle
  • Basic knowledge of unit and integration testing
  • Familiarity with Linux / Unix environments
  • Strong willingness to learn DevOps, QA, and operational practices
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools (any platform)
  • Basic understanding of containerisation (e.g. Docker)
  • Introductory exposure to cloud platforms
  • Awareness of monitoring and logging concepts
  • Experience with test automation frameworks

Graduate DevOps/QA Engineer Requirements
