Grid Connection Manager

A privately backed IPP operating in the solar PV and storage sector is seeking a Grid Connection Manager to join its technical team in Rome.


The business is supported by long-term, ESG-focused institutional capital and is at an exciting stage of growth, with an active pipeline of renewable and storage projects across Italy.


Overview


The Grid Connection Manager will be responsible for managing grid connection activities for utility-scale solar PV projects, supporting assets from early-stage development through to construction and energisation. The role sits at the intersection of technical, regulatory, and project teams.


Responsibilities

  • Manage grid connection strategies and processes for solar PV projects in Italy

  • Act as the main interface with Terna (TSO) and relevant Distribution System Operators (e.g. e-distribuzione)

  • Coordinate grid connection applications, technical studies, and connection agreements

  • Support MV/HV electrical design inputs alongside internal and external engineers

  • Advise on grid capacity, timelines, risks, and cost implications

  • Support projects through development, permitting, construction, and energisation

    • Requirements

  • Experience with grid connection processes for renewable energy projects in Italy (solar PV essential)

  • Electrical engineering, energy, or related technical background

  • Large network of relevant contacts

  • Solid understanding of Italian grid connection regulations and procedures

  • Strong stakeholder management and project coordination skills

  • Fluent Italian and good working English
