Job Description Grossing technician: Histotechnicians/Grossing technicians are an essential part of the team of laboratory health care professionals. They perform testing and prepare body fluids and tissues that are critical to the diagnostic process in determining health and disease. Shift: 09:00 PM - 5:30 AM Responsibilities Include: Receives specimens in the grossing laboratory Enters patient information into the laboratory information system, verifying identification Labels cassettes with accession/laboratory numbers Performs quality control and quality assurance procedures, such as preventive maintenance and temperature checks Maintains a clean and well-organized work area Performs various clerical duties Always maintains strict confidentiality and protects patient information Ensures specimen integrity upon receipt and throughout the entire macroscopic examination process Performs routine activities involved in the preparation of surgical specimens for histologic processing, acco...
