Altus Group is a growing operational business across Australia and New Zealand, and we’re looking for a hands‑on Group Systems, Risk & Compliance Manager to grow with us.
This is not a governance or oversight role. You’ll be actively creating, managing, and improving policies, procedures, forms, and frameworks, ensuring our systems are practical, compliant, and easy to use. You’ll work closely with teams across the business — from frontline crews to senior leaders — embedding systems that genuinely support safe, compliant operations.
You’ll own our Business Management System, support ISO certifications (9001, 45001, 14001), maintain legislative alignment, lead document governance, and drive continuous improvement across Australia and New Zealand.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is hands‑on with document creation and system design
- Has experience with integrated management systems in operational environments
- Understands ISO standards and legislative compliance
- Can engage confidently with blue‑ and white‑collar teams
- Balances compliance with practicality

What You’ll Be Doing
- Hands‑on Systems & Document Management
- You’ll own and maintain Altus Group’s Business Management System (BMS), ensuring all policies, procedures, forms, and guidelines are current, compliant, practical, and easy to use, version‑controlled, structured, and clearly governed, written for the right audience — from frontline crews to executives:
- Aligned to legislation, standards, and real‑world operations
- This role involves significant document creation, review, and refinement — not just oversight.
Risk, Compliance & Assurance
- Maintain the Legal Register for Australia & New Zealand
- Ensure legislative obligations are reflected clearly in the BMS
- Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Partner with Audit & Risk teams on compliance and assurance activities
- Provide confidence to leaders that our systems are defensible and audit‑ready
Collaboration at Every Level
- You’ll work closely with frontline operational teams, HSEQ, Training, IT and Support functions, managers, leaders, and executives.
This is a highly collaborative role — ideal for someone who can build trust with both blue‑ and white‑collar teams and influence without direct authority.
- Lead ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 certification activities
- Internal and external audits
- Evidence preparation, corrective actions, and follow‑ups
- Ensure audit outcomes result in real system and operational improvements, not box‑ticking.
Experience & Background
- Experience managing integrated management systems in operational environments
- Proven capability creating and governing group‑level policies, procedures, and forms
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation across multiple jurisdictions
- Exposure to high‑risk or operational industries
- A senior advisory mindset — not purely administrative
- Qualifications in safety, risk, quality, governance or similar are desirable.
