Guidewire BC Developer

Position Description:

Works independently under limited supervision and applies knowledge of subject matter in Applications Development. Possess sufficient knowledge and skills to effectively deal with issues, challenges within field of specialization to develop simple applications solutions. Second level professional with direct impact on results and outcome.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Design and build solutions in BillingCenter based on business needs, including configuring payment plans, invoicing, write-offs, and delinquency processing.
• Customize billing workflows, user interfaces (PCF pages), and business rules using Gosu and Guidewire Studio.
• Integrate BillingCenter with other systems like PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and external systems (e.g., payment gateways, ERPs) using web services (SOAP/REST) and messaging.
• Write and perform unit tests, participate in system and integration testing, and help resolve issues identified during testing phases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise in the production environment.
• Work with business analysts, QA testers, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies like daily scrums and sprint planning.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Must-Have Skills:
• Proficiency in Gosu and Java is essential.
• Experience using this integrated development environment (IDE) for customization, coding, and deployment.
• Experience with Guidewire's cloud offerings is increasingly important.
• Expertise in building integrations using SOAP and RESTful web services for system-to-system communication.
• Strong skills in SQL and database management (like Oracle or SQL Server) for data handling.
• Familiarity with tools like Git or SVN is necessary for code management.
• Knowledge of build tools like Maven and deployment processes.
Good-to-Have Skills:
• Guidewire CC Configuration Knowledge.
