Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Hardware Architect with strong exposure to Automotive electronics systems. The role involves defining end-to-end hardware architecture for automotive ECUs, ensuring compliance with automotive quality, safety, and reliability standards, and working closely with cross-functional teams including software, mechanical, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own hardware architecture for Automotive ECUs (IVI, Cluster, Body, ADAS, Powertrain, etc.)
- Perform system-level HW design, including block diagrams, component selection, and technology roadmap
- Lead schematic design reviews, PCB architecture, and design optimization
- Ensure compliance with Automotive standards (AEC-Q, ISO 26262 – awareness/functional safety alignment)
- Drive DFMEA / FMEDA activities from a hardware perspective
- Collaborate with software, system, mechanical, and manufacturing teams for seamless integration
- Interface with OEMs, Tier-1s, and semiconductor vendors for technical alignment
- Guide validation, bring-up, and debugging of prototypes and production hardware
- Support EMC/EMI, thermal, power integrity, and reliability analysis
- Mentor and technically guide hardware design teams
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Automotive hardware design & architecture
- Strong experience in ECU hardware architecture and system design
- Expertise in microcontrollers / So Cs (Infineon, NXP, Renesas, TI, Qualcomm, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with schematic design, PCB architecture, and design reviews
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols: CAN, LIN, Flex Ray, Ethernet
- Strong understanding of power supply design, signal integrity, and thermal management
- Familiarity with AEC-Q compliant components and automotive derating practices
- Experience working with OEM / Tier-1 engineering teams
Good to Have
- Exposure to ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) – HW metrics
- Experience in ADAS / IVI / Cluster / Gateway / BMS platforms
- Knowledge of EMC/EMI testing, ESD, surge, and compliance
- Experience with High-speed interfaces (PCIe, USB, HDMI, LVDS, MIPI)
- Awareness of ASPICE requirements
- Experience supporting production ramp-up and failure analysis
Tools & Technologies
- Schematic & PCB tools: Altium / Cadence / Or CAD
- Simulation & analysis tools (PI/SI, thermal, EMC – awareness level)
- Lab equipment: Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer
