Job Description
SUMMARY
The Head Custodian is a working custodial position who performs daily custodial duties and coordinates and assists with supervising all aspects of daily and periodic cleaning in and around the museum, office, and storage areas. This position requires working some nights that we're open and on weekends. Applicants must be available to work flexible hours and schedules to fulfill the needs of the organization. The Head Custodian reports to the Custodial Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Perform specific daily custodial duties and substitute for custodial stations when necessary.
+ Assign and train custodial staff on Exploratorium protocol for daily and periodic work.
+ Operate, maintain, and repair cleaning equipment.
+ Monitor assigned work areas regularly to insure proper standards are maintained.
