Job Title: Design Head – Parking Systems

Location: Nashik
Reporting To: Director – Projects & Engineering

Role Objective

The Design Head – Parking Systems will lead and manage the complete design function for mechanical, semi-automated, and automated parking systems. The role focuses on delivering safe, efficient, cost-effective, and compliant design solutions aligned with project requirements, client expectations, statutory norms, and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering Leadership

The role involves leading end-to-end design and engineering of parking systems such as:

  • Stack, Puzzle, Rotary, Tower, and Fully Automated Parking Systems

  • Key responsibilities include:

  • Finalizing concept designs, GA drawings, load calculations, and detailed fabrication drawings

  • Ensuring compliance with IS codes, safety standards, fire norms, seismic requirements, and local authority regulations

  • Reviewing and approving structural and mechanical design assumptions and calculations

  • Project & Pre-Sales Support

    The incumbent will work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Projects, Installation, Manufacturing, and Procurement to ensure design feasibility and optimization. Key contributions include:

  • Providing technical inputs during pre-bid discussions, tenders, BOQs, and client presentations

  • Supporting project execution teams by addressing site constraints, design changes, and technical clarifications

  • Participating in client meetings to explain design concepts and resolve technical concerns

  • Quality, Safety & Compliance

    The role ensures high standards of quality and safety across all design deliverables, including:

  • Adherence to internal SOPs, quality standards, and statutory requirements

  • Approval of design documents prior to release for manufacturing, procurement, and installation

  • Conducting design validation, risk assessments, FMEA, and safety checks

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable ISO standards

  • Cost Optimization & Design Innovation

    A key focus of the role is to balance performance with cost and innovation by:

  • Driving value engineering, modular design, and standardization across product lines

  • Optimizing designs for space utilization, material efficiency, and operational performance

  • Exploring new technologies, materials, and automation trends in parking systems

  • Supporting localization and vendor development initiatives from a design perspective

  • Team Leadership & Development

    The Design Head will lead and develop a high-performing design team through:

  • Mentoring design engineers and draftsmen and ensuring effective work allocation

  • Reviewing deliverables to ensure adherence to timelines and quality benchmarks

  • Building technical capability through training, design reviews, and knowledge sharing

  • Coordinating with external consultants, structural engineers, and architects as required

  • Documentation, SOPs & Controls

    The role is responsible for maintaining strong design governance by:

  • Developing and maintaining design SOPs, engineering standards, and best practices

  • Ensuring proper documentation control, drawing version management, and record maintenance

  • Supporting internal and external audits with complete traceability and compliance documentation

  • Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in mechanical design, structural concepts, and load calculations

  • Hands-on proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Inventor

  • Sound understanding of parking system regulations, safety and fire norms, and municipal approval processes

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills

  • Ability to balance technical excellence with commercial and execution realities

  • Educational Qualifications

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)

  • M.E. (Design Engineering) – Added advantage

  • Experience Requirements

  • 10–15 years of relevant experience in parking systems, material handling systems, heavy engineering, or similar domains

  • Proven experience in leading design teams and delivering large-scale, multi-location projects

  • Experience in interfacing with clients, consultants, statutory authorities, and internal stakeholders
