Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Mechanical Design ExpertiseIn-depth knowledge and experience in mechanical design principles for complex components and systems.
  • Material Evaluation & SelectionAbility to evaluate and select appropriate materials for mechanical components considering end application, temperature, pressure, and other working conditions.
  • Simulation & AnalysisProficiency in FEA softwareand strong understanding of: Mechanical engineering principlesMaterials scienceHeat transfer and thermodynamics concepts
  • Design ValidationRelevant experience in: Checking load-controlled stress limits to prevent plastic collapseVerifying compliance with strain limits under sustained high-temperature exposureAssessing fatigue and creep-fatigue damage during thermal cyclesEvaluating buckling stability at operating temperatureIntegrating stress/strain results with Code procedures to evaluate creep rupture, fatigue life, and combined creep-fatigue failure modes
  • High-Temperature ApplicationsSound knowledge of designing components for elevated temperature operations, including material selection based on strength at high temperatures.
  • Finite Element ModelingExpertise in discretizing CAD models by creating finite element meshes, selecting appropriate element types and mesh densities to capture structural behavior accurately while optimizing computational efficiency.
  • Simulation for ManufacturingHands-on experience with simulation software for casting and forging processes.
  • Failure AnalysisProven track record in failure analysis and root cause analysis for quality issues related to mechanical design and material selection.
