Job Description: Head of Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Department Location - Sipajhar, Assam We area a leading ethanol manufacturing biofuel company based in Sipajhar, Assamis seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) to lead the department. The role focuses on ensuring plant reliability, safety, and efficiency in a high-stakes production environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee plant availability and reliability by maintaining electrical and instrument uptime, limiting breakdowns to defined benchmarks, resolving faults within SOP limits, and driving year-on-year MTBF improvements. Manage preventive and predictive maintenance achieving PM compliance, 100% calibration adherence, on-schedule predictive analyses like thermography and vibration monitoring, and reducing repeated failures Ensure safety, compliance, and statutory adherence with 100% electrical safety compliance (earthing, LOTO, PPE, SOPs), zero non-compliance in inspections (CEIG, Factory Inspector, PESO), zero incident rates, and 100% audit closure. Drive energy management and cost optimization through year-on-year reductions in kWh per unit production, average power factor, measurable energy loss reductions, and timely implementation of cost-saving projects. Lead automation, improvements, and projects by delivering on-time PLC/DCS optimizations and interlocks, zero-rework modifications, schedule-bound new project support (FAT/SAT), and 100% documentation updates. Handle spare parts and asset management with 100% critical spare availability, 98% inventory accuracy, reductions in obsolete materials, and complete equipment history maintenance. Foster team management and skill development via 100% skill matrix compliance, planned training hours,contractor performance, and zero gaps in shift handovers. Required Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering; Master's or MBA preferred. 15+ years in E&I roles within manufacturing/process industries, with 5+ years in Biofuel /Chemical/Ethanol plants; prior HOD/leadership experience essential. Expertise in PLC/DCS systems, high-voltage power distribution, instrumentation calibration, and predictive maintenance tools. Strong knowledge of Indian statutory regulations (CEIG, PESO, Factory Act) and safety standards. Proven track record in energy optimization and cost reduction in 24/7 operations.
