Logistic Head (Liquid Import Bulk)

We are looking for a seasoned Head of Logistics to lead our import logistics operations, with a strong focus on chemical cargo movement via bulk and containerized modes. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in vessel chartering, import compliance, and the handling of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals through sea freight. This role will play a strategic and operational role in ensuring timely, safe, and cost-efficient transportation from global suppliers to our facilities.

1. Logistics Strategy & Operations:
- Lead end-to-end logistics for import of chemicals via bulk tankers, liquid bulk, and containerized cargo (FCL/LCL).
- Design and implement logistics strategies to optimize cost, delivery timelines, and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with procurement, planning, and manufacturing teams for delivery planning and coordination.
2. Vessel Chartering:
- Manage spot and long-term chartering of chemical tankers, dry bulk vessels, and container space.
- Negotiate freight contracts, charter party agreements, demurrage clauses, and port handling terms.
- Maintain strong relationships with ship owners, chartering brokers, NVOCCs, and freight forwarders.
3. Regulatory & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with IMDG, REACH, MARPOL, DG regulations, and other international maritime laws.
- Oversee customs clearance, import documentation, and regulatory approvals (MSDS, COO, B/L, etc.).
- Manage classification, packaging, and labeling of hazardous chemicals as per global standards.
4. Port, Terminal & Transport Management:
- Coordinate with port authorities, terminals, and bonded warehouses for efficient cargo handling.
- Supervise movement from port to plant via road tankers, ISO tanks, IBCs, or drums as per cargo type.
- Manage last-mile logistics, ensuring safe unloading and quality checks.
5. Cost, Risk & Performance Management:
- Monitor freight trends, benchmark costs, and initiate cost-saving strategies across shipping modes.
- Analyze and report KPIs (OTIF, demurrage costs, transit times, etc.) and drive continuous improvement.
- Handle exceptions, delays, and risk mitigation related to cargo damage, spills, or port disruptions.
6. Team Leadership:
- Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team of 15 ppl.
- Build a strong logistics network including transporters, and warehouse partners.
